Male Hooded Warbler

Male Hooded Warbler

September 6, 2017 by MoJo

When I looked up at one of the camera feeds, my eye was immediately caught by a yellow/black bird I had never seen before. The coloring of this bird is really dramatic.  My first thought was that a tropical bird had been released, or gotten off a migration path.  As it turns out, it was a male Hooded Warbler; a resident of Georgia during the summer. I’m guessing I’ve never seen a Hooded Warbler before as there is no food at my feeders to attract them, but it was a real treat to get to see him at least once.  I may just have to see what I can do to draw these warblers back in front of the cameras!
